Villa St Simon St Emilion Tours

The historic town of St Emilion is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to the famous Merlots of Bordeaux. The city was mainly built in the 13th century and constructed from sandstone blocks mined under St Emilion; there are 200km of tunnels under the ancient city. Many of these underground tunnels are nowadays used as wine maturation cellars.

Quite spectacular also is St Emilion's Cathedral, which was constructed between the 13th and 15th century out of a single piece of rock. The tourist office of St Emilion offers English speaking guided tours to visit and discover the catacombs.

Tour description : This all-day-tour typically starts at 10am and includes either a château visit in the appellation of St Emilion or a wine tasting in the City of St Emilion, a tour of the historic town, the tour of the cathedral and shopping opportunities for those who are lured by the selection of very beautiful and well assorted shops of St Emilion.
