This tour takes you to the appellation of Sauternes – home of Bordeaux' noble rot wines and the famous Château d'Yquem. Here they overturn everything that winemakers in the rest of Bordeaux take for granted:

From a climate that has both humid mist and bright sunshine on the same day, to promoting bacterial growth, multiple harvests that involve berry by berry selection, single barrel fermentation and maturation and using only natural yeasts. Wine-making in Sauterne is fascinating and the wine tasting unforgettable.

Tour description : The visit to Château d'Yquem or - depending on availablity - to another equally interesting chateau in Sauterne is an all-day-tour to the most southern area of Bordeaux. The tour leaves Blaye at 10.00am, we stop in the city of Bordeaux for a set-menu lunch en route to the Sauterne and return after an inspiring visit to Château d'Yquem to Blaye at about 6pm.

Tour Rate : 125€ p.p.
The rate includes the château admissions, tastings, a set-menu lunch, and - as do all our tours – an English speaking wine buff and air-conditioned chauffeuring in a minibus of maximum 8 persons.
