Villa St Simon Chateau Medoc Tours

The Medoc is home to the World's most famous Châteaux: Mouton Rothchild, Latour, Lafite, Margaux. Amongst these very well known 1st Growths there are some other quite spectacular 2nd and 3rd classified Growths that have most interesting production processes and make equally beautiful wines.

Typical for the Medoc is the pebbles stone terroir and a mixed climate of heat and humidity, which favors the growth of Cabernet Sauvignon.

Tour description : This tour starts with the ferry crossing from Blaye to the Medoc – usually at 10am.

Depending on the time of year the morning tour will include one of the first or second growths.

At noon we have lunch at one of the restaurants patronized mainly by local winemakers.

In the afternoon there is a second visit to another classified growth château. In the process we drive much of the Great Château Road where we have the opportunity to admire and photograph some of the magnificent fairy-tale castles.

The tour is rounded off by a ferry ride back to Blaye at 5.30pm

Tour Rate : 185€ p.p.
The tour rate includes château admissions, guided tastings, a set-menu lunch, and - as do all our tours – an English speaking wine buff and air-conditioned chauffeuring in a minibus of maximum 8 persons.

Important : Tours to classified growth châteaux are always by appointment, and their availability is very much dependent on the time of year, so please plan and book ahead!
